  In Kasoa Ofaakor, a well-known marijuana vendor allegedly attacked a 17-year-old motorcycle taxi rider with a machete.  The suspect, referred to as "Cobra," had an ongoing dispute with the victim's employer, Abraham Ahiadu, over Cobra's illegal sale of marijuana. When Cobra spotted the victim in his vicinity, he assumed the rider was gathering evidence to report him to the police.  This led to a heated argument, during which Cobra reportedly wounded Abraham with a machete. Concerned residents took the injured motorcycle rider to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital and subsequently reported the incident to the police.

The Effutu Municipality in the Central Region has reported a concerning number of Hepatitis B virus (HBV) cases.  MP Alexander Afenyo Markin revealed that out of 2,106 individuals screened, 405 tested positive, including 68 pregnant women, 148 children, and 189 youth. He emphasized the importance of screening and vaccination to combat this serious disease, pledging one million cedis for the cause.  HBV can lead to liver cancer and is best tackled through early detection and vaccination.

Speaking to reporters in the Ashanti Region, Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson expressed concerns about the deteriorating state of the cocoa sector, despite a proclaimed 68 percent increase in the producer price. He cited a decline in cocoa production to its lowest point in fifteen years and significant losses incurred since 2017, including a reported GH¢2.4 billion loss in a single year.   A tragic incident occurred when a commercial sex worker, Anabel, lost her life after being struck by a tipper truck. The incident unfolded when Anabel hired a taxi from Kasoa to Awutu Bereku to meet a client. Upon her arrival at Triple X, a dispute arose with the taxi driver, as she accused him of having sexual relations with her and refusing to pay the fare. The taxi driver refuted the accusation, asserting that it was a ploy to evade paying the GH₵80 fare. Consequently, he drove away, leaving Anabel behind, who subsequently demanded the money from onlookers who had intervened to break up the altercation. Eyewitnesses reported that a few minutes later, a tipper truck from Awutu Bereku struck and fatally injured Anabel.   In response to the outbreak of swine fever in Kwawu West, authorities in the municipality have implemented containment measures, including a ban on the movement of pigs and the sale of pork within the affected area. This swine fever outbreak has had a devastating impact, resulting in the deaths of nearly 1,000 pigs in the municipality. To control the spread of the disease, multiple agencies, including the veterinary service, environmental service, and the Municipal Assembly, have collaborated. Dr. Mark Owusu, the veterinary officer for the Municipality, explained that a crucial step taken is the prohibition of pig movement and pork sales. In addition, an extensive disinfection process has been initiated, which is expected to continue for approximately three months before normal pig farming activities can resume.
