Effutu: 405 people test positive for Hepatitis B virus
The Effutu Municipality in the Central Region has reported a concerning number of Hepatitis B virus (HBV) cases.
MP Alexander Afenyo Markin revealed that out of 2,106 individuals screened, 405 tested positive, including 68 pregnant women, 148 children, and 189 youth. He emphasized the importance of screening and vaccination to combat this serious disease, pledging one million cedis for the cause.
HBV can lead to liver cancer and is best tackled through early detection and vaccination.
