Mr. Benjamin Semenyo Lifeson, a dedicated educator at the Presbyterian College of Education in Akuapim North, Eastern Region, has received well-deserved recognition for his exceptional contributions to the field of education.

At the prestigious 2023 Ghana Teacher Prize ceremony held in Takoradi on October 5th, Mr. Lifeson was honored with the title of "Most Outstanding College Tutor." His selection was the result of a rigorous process, and it reflects his unwavering commitment to teaching and the profound impact he has had on his students.

Mr. Lifeson has been a cornerstone of the Presbyterian College of Education for several years, consistently leaving a positive mark on the lives of his students. Beyond his teaching responsibilities, he actively engages in "community projects" designed to enhance education within the college and the broader region.

As a mentor, he has been instrumental in guiding countless young individuals, inspiring them to pursue their aspirations and contribute positively to their communities. In recognition of his exceptional achievements, Mr. Lifeson was awarded a 4X4 Pick-Up Truck.


The 1st Runner Up for the title of "Most Outstanding College Tutor" was awarded to Mr. Victor King Ayanful of OLA College of Education in the Cape Coast Metropolis, Central Region. Mr. Ayanful, a seasoned educator known for his innovative teaching methods and strong student connections, has been making significant contributions to education over the years.


The 2nd Runner Up was bestowed upon Mr. Simon Boateng (PhD) from St. Monica’s College of Education in the Mampong District, Ashanti Region. Dr. Boateng, with his extensive teaching experience, has made substantial impacts on education within the region. He serves as a mentor to numerous young teachers, encouraging them to pursue their teaching passions.


This recognition serves as a poignant reminder of the pivotal role that teachers play in shaping the future of our nation. The event also provides a valuable platform for educators to exchange experiences and learn from one another.

The award ceremony garnered attendance from government officials, education stakeholders, and members of the public, celebrating the remarkable achievements of these outstanding educators.

CETAG Opposes Proposal to Abolish Licensure Exams for Teacher Trainees

  CETAG, the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana, has expressed its disagreement with John Mahama's proposal to eliminate licensure exams for teacher trainees. CETAG asserts that these exams are essential for assessing the competence and quality of aspiring teachers, and therefore should not be abolished. During his 'Building Ghana Tour' in the Bono Region, John Mahama vowed to abolish licensure exams for teacher trainees, arguing that subjecting them to additional assessments is unnecessary for qualification.
