Police arrest 2 suspects for robbery at mining company in Bogoso
The Police in Bogoso, located in the Western Region, have apprehended two individuals suspected of robbing a mining company in the area.
These suspects, namely Derrick Kwabena and Daniel Ofori, who goes by the alias Denotobe, were part of a group of six others who are currently evading capture. They carried out an assault on the mining company and even targeted Police Officers who were on duty at the site.
Upon receiving the distress call, the Police swiftly responded and managed to apprehend Derrick Kwabena at the scene, while the remaining culprits managed to escape.
Further investigation efforts led to the capture of the suspect Daniel Ofori, who was found waiting in a Toyota Hilux pickup vehicle intended for the remaining suspects and the stolen goods.
The seized items from the suspects included a quantity of gold concentrate concealed in a fertilizer sack, one pistol, one machete, five BB cartridges, a Toyota Hilux pickup with registration No. GN 3020-17, and some talisman.
Currently, the two suspects are in lawful custody, and authorities are actively pursuing the remaining suspects to ensure they face the legal consequences of their actions.
