Impersonator Pretending to be a Doctor Apprehended at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital
A man who falsely posed as a medical doctor at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital has been apprehended by hospital staff and subsequently handed over to the police. The individual, identified as Williams Cyril Kohen, was subjected to questioning by hospital personnel during their routine rounds, confirming their suspicions about his identity. Following this discovery, the hospital's police post took charge of the case and subsequently transferred it to the Central Police Command for further investigation.
Regarding this incident, the hospital's Public Relations Officer, Kwame Frimpong, emphasized that the institution has implemented robust security measures to prevent such occurrences. He highlighted the hospital's team-based system, where all team members are well-known to each other, making it challenging for unauthorized individuals to join the team. Additionally, the hospital employs an electronic medical records system, ensuring that only authorized medical staff with specific passwords can attend to patients, review cases, and provide prescriptions. Unauthorized individuals are unable to access this system, further safeguarding patient care.
