Black Sherif, Camidoh nominated for first-ever Trace Awards

Ghanaian music talents Black Sherif and Camidoh have received nominations across various categories for the inaugural Trace Awards.

Black Sherif's nominations include Best Artist Africa – Anglophone and Best Collaboration for the remix of his song "Second Sermon," featuring Burna Boy. Meanwhile, Camidoh is in the running for Song of the Year with his popular track "Sugarcane."

Additionally, DJ Juls has secured a nomination for Best Producer of the Year. Notably, Black Sherif has emerged as a highly celebrated and successful artist in Ghana, even clinching the 'Artiste of the Year' title at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in 2023.

Camidoh is also carving a notable presence in the Ghanaian music scene, with his hit single "Sugarcane" achieving top 10 status in the country and across Africa in 2022. The announcement of the nominations for the inaugural awards was shared by the organizers on Monday, August 21, 2023.

Olivier Laouchez, co-founder and chairman of the awards, commended African artists for their remarkable creativity and dynamism. He expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event, scheduled to take place on October 21, 2023, at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda.
